R.I.P. Hal David
Harold Lane David (May 25, 1921 – September 1, 2012) was an American lyricist. He grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He was best known for his musical collaborations with composer Burt Bacharach. As young men in the 1960s, the duo wrote some of the most beautiful and timeless pop songs for singer Dionne Warwick. Over the years, many of the songs have been covered countless times by other artists. Isaac Hayes and Luther Vandross are among the best of those who reinterpreted the classic songs, giving them new life with extraordinary musical arrangements that fit their own personal styles.
