💙 #ILoveSomeoneWithAutism

The Lady (Bug) of the Household has been a proud supporter of Autism Speaks for several years. I have a schedule conflict and won't be able to participate in the walk today, but I hope someone will see this post and be encouraged to walk in my place. Please know that my feet, heart, prayers, spirit, and support is with everyone from Philly who will be walking today. May God bless all of you and your loved ones with a beautiful day and H-U-G-E turnout so the proceeds will exceed all expectations. Have a great time and see you at next year's walk! 2TU!

Throwback Thursday

JFK (1917-1963), MLK (1929-1968), and RFK (1925-1968)

I was in elementary school at the time, but I remember shortly after John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Robert F. Kennedy were assassinated, The Bulletin included 8 x 10 color portraits of them in the Sunday edition of the newspaper. Even though the color has faded a little from years of exposure to the sun, my mom still has all three of them hanging in frames on her front porch to this day. They used to include portraits of presidents in the paper after they were elected too. The Bulletin was originally circulated in Philadelphia from 1847-1982 and later resurrected for a few years from 2004-2009.

R.I.P. Bunny

He was born 2 days before Easter and 76 years old when he passed away today. I ran into him and his wife in Wynnefield 3 years ago and they were the most down-to-earth people you would ever want to meet. He was always a class act, great songwriter, musical legend, and 'sharp' dresser who could still turn heads at 70+ years old. I told him I loved his singing voice and songs, but "REGINA" (1973) was definitely my all-time favorite! You will be missed, Bunny! 🐇 ❤

It's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month...

Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. It is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and the second leading cause of cancer death among women. Each year it is estimated that over 246,660 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die. Although breast cancer in men is rare, an estimated 2,600 men will be diagnosed with it and approximately 440 will die each year. On average, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 2 minutes and 1 woman will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes. Over 2.8 million breast cancer survivors are alive in the United States today. Click on the image or text link underneath for more information.
