📽️🍿🥤 Girls Day Out
I saw "Wicked For Good" at AMC Dine-In Painters Crossing 9-West Chester with my daughter, granddaughters, and their friend today. I was looking forward to the second movie after seeing "Wicked" with them last year. I really enjoyed both movies. Thank you to my daughter for the outing and kudos to Old Navy for this free t-shirt via my reward points!

✝️ SBC Basketball Game GM3 vs. Ethos
The First Annual SBC basketball game between GM3 (GOD's Mighty Men Ministry) and Ethos was held at AFC Fitness in Bala Cynwyd today. It was touch and go for a while, but the final score was GM3-50 and Ethos-69. The AFC facility and host staff person was very nice and a great time was had by all. Everyone who attended received a FREE 30-day pass to return and enjoy the facility in the future! #RematchGame2026

💰 No More New Pennies
After 232 years, the penny has passed away with little fanfare. The clock ran out Wednesday, November 12, 2025 when the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia produced the final pennies to go into circulation. The 1-cent coins had been minted there since 1793.
Pennies are still considered legal tender, so they will remain in circulation--but no new pennies will be made. It was mainly a financial decision because a single penny costs about 3 cents to produce. Estimates say there are about 250 billion pennies still in circulation.
Abraham Lincoln has been the face of the penny since 1909--but when the penny was born, Lady Liberty graced one side of the coin. Now, with the penny gone, all eyes are on the nickel because the 5-cent coin costs about 10 cents to produce.

📣 Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Across the South, Black-owned farms are stepping in to support their communities during SNAP funding delays. In North Carolina, Deep Roots CPS Farm—run by NMSDC Acres Program alumni, Cherie Jzar, AICP and her family, has been donating free bags of fresh produce to local seniors and families in need.
Meanwhile, in Oakland, Mississippi, a Black-owned nonprofit grocer has been providing monthly food boxes to households with children and older residents. Together, these efforts reflect a long tradition of Black agricultural self-reliance, as farmers and community leaders work to fill the gaps left by stalled government assistance and ensure their neighbors don’t go hungry.

🇺🇸 What Is A Veteran?
A veteran is someone who served in the active military, naval, or air service and wrote a blank check made payable to the United States of America for an amount up to and including their life. It is truly an honor and there are many Americans who don't understand that level of sacrifice.
Happy Veterans Day to everyone who served in all branches of the armed forces, and especially the one who is nearest and dearest to my heart. My hubby served in the United States Air Force for 22 years and retired in 2006. Thank you for your sacrifice and service!
