🥢 Daiki Hibachi Will Be Missed
Me and the hubby loved Daiki Hibachi, which was located at 7557 Haverford Avenue in Philadelphia. The food was great, reasonably priced, and you couldn't meet a sweeter host than Ms. Sherry. It was nice having another hibachi restaurant in the area, which we haven't had since Benihana, the underground restaurant in the Saks 5th Avenue parking lot on City Avenue, closed many years ago--for those who remember it.
But unfortunately, like many other restaurants, Daiki struggled to keep things going through COVID. They had to reinvent their service in several ways during the pandemic and afterward when they resumed their dine-in service. In fact, the last few times we were there, we were the only customers in the restaurant and some of you may have experienced the same.
So, for those like us who didn't hear the sad news when it happened, Daiki had to close their doors for good on May 31, 2025. Click on image or this text link to read their farewell notice to the community and customers from their Instagram page. I decided to take the time to write this post in the hopes they might see it one day and know how much they are missed. We wish them well on any future endeavors.
