🍽 No Distractions, Stay Focused
Well, I would have to agree with the hubby and "mark myself safe from" caring about the Cracker Barrel decor and logo changes like he did on Facebook. But, all this talk about it made us hungry for the food so we decided to head over there for brunch today.
Here's a glimpse of the menu we were given with the new logo, which was no big deal to us, and the intended decor changes haven't been implemented at the location in Plymouth Meeting yet. There were some changes to food items on the menu since we were there in early July, but most of the "favorites" are still listed. All I know is, the hubby enjoyed his pancake breakfast and I enjoyed my pot roast lunch. So, to everyone except the MAGA folks who are losing their minds over these changes (I just can't, so why bother)... don't allow yourself to be distracted by all the BS.
In the midst of attempts to rewrite and whitewash history, civil rights and other constitutional violations, ICE raids and immigrant kidnappings, laws being blatantly broken left and right without impunity, militarization of DC and like-threats to other cities, ridiculous executive orders being written and carried out every other day, the Epstein file controversy, and so many other "wrong things" going on in this country now via the current corrupt president and his cohorts--we definitely have more important things to think about that need our attention.
Cracker Barrel doesn't need anyone's permission to change their decor, logo, or anything else for that matter. Everything about the restaurant chain, particularly regarding the decor, has remained pretty much the same over the years since they started in 1969. And, it doesn't take a genius to figure out the artifacts on the walls were intended to be a nostalgic look back for "The Silent Generation," who were the young adult parents raising Baby Boomers in the late 1960s. I can only speculate that because most of that generation has passed on now, someone at Cracker Barrel decided it was time for some changes after a 56-year run (over half a century) of things remaining the same.
Despite what raving MAGA lunatics would have you believe, none of the changes at Cracker Barrel have anything to do with "woke ideology" and now is a good time to remember the song lyrics... "Everything must change, nothing stays the same." But, rest assured, any memories of days, people, and things gone by related to your personal experiences with the restaurant can forever remain in the safe places of your heart and mind. As long as the food is still good and keeps you coming back for more so you can continue to make new memories, that's all that really matters--not the decor or the logo, which will probably change again in another 56 years if you're blessed to see it.
