Upcoming Event For A Philadelphia Son
How many of you Philly natives remember growing up in the 70s and seeing the graffiti tag name "CORNBREAD" on every-other building and structure in the city? Well, the person behind that name is still alive and doing well. Believe it or not, he is known all over the world as "The Godfather of Graffiti" among many who view it as a valuable form of art expression, when done appropriately. In fact, I bet you didn’t know that his signature tag name is actually hanging in a museum in Paris, France--and, he didn’t have to sneak in after hours to put it there. Check out the flyer for an upcoming tribute in Philadelphia for Darryl A. McCray, better known here and everywhere else in graffiti art culture circles as "Cornbread". And, click on the flyer to learn more about his incredible life journey from a troubled teenage street kid looking for attention, to the man he is today.
