Yesterday, me and the hubby were guests of some very good friends for our first trip to Longwood Gardens. Orchids of every variety were on display and will be the featured attraction at the gardens through March 30th. In light of all the crazy weather we've been having this winter, it felt good to see a hint of spring in the midst of all the snow, and the 50-degree temperature we had on this particular day made it perfect. In addition to this collage, we took many pics of all the beauty we saw at the gardens. So, if your desperate for a reminder of spring and how beautiful it can be, click on the image to watch the YouTube video we made, or use the text link under the image to visit the website. #springiscoming

'Standing Their Ground' Cemetery
This is so crazy and sad, but true. And, the discussion on this photo, which was found on Facebook, is equally as sad (click on the image to read the commentary). The bodies and cases are stacking up at an alarming rate in the state of Florida and something must be done about it! WTH is going on? Photo by Cartoonist Jim Morin, The Miami Herald.

Dear White Christians of Florida...

Unfortunately, it will probably fall on 'deaf ears', but I agree with it!

The Michael Dunn Verdict
OMG!!! Mistrial On First Degree Murder Charge??? WTH!!!
I had to post this image, and I'm only sorry it doesn't have a 'bull's eye' it. This is not how I usually think about things, but I'm really growing weary of this crap. The whole judicial system in the state of Florida needs to be investigated, Angela Corey needs to be fired, and the state should be boycotted. Enough is enough! R.I.P. Jordan Davis (1995-2012). Did you know today would have been is 19th birthday? Justice has failed us, once again. SMH...

A Katie Couric ' Talk That Matters' Exclusive:
How To Keep Your Kids Safe
After the tragic disappearance and death of 14 year old Avonte Oquendo, many people were left wondering how a young teen with severe autism could wander out of a school on his own. Could your child be in danger too? Katie speaks with Liz Feld, President of Autism Speaks, and David Kennedy, a security specialist. In particular, David is very candid in letting us know that children, especially in public school settings, are not being protected as much as we think. He encourages all parents to question the schools about the types of security they have in place and hold them accountable by making sure those security measures are actually enforced. Good show and conversation. Click on the image to watch the video segment.

"Dream Away On The Goodship Lollipop!"
My mom bought this album for me 51 years ago when I was 5 years old so technically, I guess it's the first LP I ever owned. I played the grooves off of it on my phonograph and learned the lyrics to every single song. I still have the album, and I even found a collection of these adorable songs on CD when I became an adult. I never forgot my early days listening to this record or the words to the songs. I also spent many an Easter Sunday sportin' Shirley Temple curls to church. I've always had a warm spot in my heart for "the little girl", which is what my mom said I used to call her before I learned her name. Thanks for the memories, Shirley. You will be greatly missed, but the body of work you left behind will keep you alive in our hearts and minds forever.
