🎄 Christmas Memories
My gift from "The Ghost of Christmas Past" this year arrived early via Amazon today. My mom loved Jane Parker Fruit Cakes, so she bought one every Christmas from the A&P Supermarket while I was growing up and I liked them too. When the supermarket chain went under decades ago, the fruit cakes unfortunately went along with it. Needless to say, we were never able to find another fruit cake that measured up to the quality and taste of Jane Parker, but we continued our tradition with other brands such as Benson, Claxton, Entenmann, Tastykake, Village Fair, or whatever we could find. Finally, I recently found out the Jane Parker name, original recipes, and fruit cakes were resurrected by two brothers, Chris & Alex Ronacher, who started baking and selling them again. And no, I really don't care how many people don't eat or like fruit cake and never did—even when I was a kid. Now, the only thing missing is my mom, who is no longer here to enjoy it with us...
