Just broke the match to my everyday pair of earrings (right). Thank God I kept the spare from the last time it happened 15 years ago (left). I guess this will just have to do for a couple of days until I get a new pair. Keep everything... you never know when you will need it!
UPDATE 09-11-21: This took way longer than it probably should have, but circumstances and life got in the way. It's so nice to finally have something as simple as a matching pair of everyday earrings again!

Well, once again, it looks like Gun Reform has gotten lost in the sauce. The only time it is mentioned is after a mass shooting and then, it's quickly forgotten. Afghanistan, Coronavirus, For The People, Global Warming, Infrastructure, Police Reform, Voting Rights, 1619 Project (not Critical Race Theory)... just a ball of confusion. Prayers are going up for all of the families that lost loved ones to gun violence in the meantime. May they rest in peace. Just SMH...

Yes, I guess I am guilty of becoming my parents in some ways. I ask for discounts when something isn't right, can't pronounce the word Quinoa either, go to the bathroom before I leave the house so I don't get in distress later, have signs on my walls like "Live Laugh Love" for inspiration, have throw pillows on the sofa but there is still enough room to sit down, make strange noises for a reason when I get up and sit down, pack snacks for trips rather than buy them sometimes, text with my index finger and not my thumbs, and write checks on rare occasions when necessary. But, in my defense, I don't apply medicinal creams and ointments in public, read billboards outloud in the car, or tell the grillmaster how to prepare the food because I'm too busy eating it. I also know how to open a PDF and what the subscribe button on your YouTube videos mean. Watching my parents taught me several things about life that I've tried to balance with being my own person, but I love the Progressive commercials you've done just the same. LOL!

When did you get your 2nd COVID-19 vaccine shot? The U.S. is working toward making booster shots available around the third week in September. We're being encouraged to get the booster shot 8 MONTHS after we received our 2nd shot for additional protection against the Delta variant. It is recommended that we stick with the vaccine manufacturer we used before--be it Moderna or Pfizer. Philasd.org/ringthebell has everything you need to know about the upcoming 2021-2022 school year, including back to school neighborhood bus tours and events near you offering free backpacks, supplies, etc. May God add an extra measure of His blessings, grace, mercy, peace, and protection over our administrators, children, and teachers as they transition back to the classroom for in-person learning in the midst of a pandemic. In a nation that is so divided over being vaxed and wearing masks, it helps to remember that the battle is not ours, it's the Lord's. He's got us!

I just saw the story about a 31yo mom of 5 kids (ages 1-13) who refused to be vaxed. She lost her battle with the Delta variant and now her mom has to finish raising the kids. Do NOT do this to your children and aging parents. Delta doesn't care. Get vaxed!

ME: Hey, God.
GOD: Hello, my love.
ME: I'm falling apart. Can you put me back together?
GOD: I would rather not.
ME: Why?
GOD: Because you are not a puzzle.
ME: What about all of the pieces of my life that are falling down onto the ground?
GOD: Let them stay there for a while. They fell off for a reason. Take some time and decide if you need any of those pieces back.
ME: You don't understand! I'm breaking down!
GOD: No, you don't understand. You are breaking through. What you are feeling is just growing pains. You are shedding the things and the people in your life that are holding you back. You are not falling apart. You are falling into place. Relax. Take some deep breaths and allow those things you don't need anymore to fall off of you. Quit holding onto the pieces that don't fit you anymore. Let them fall off. Let them go.
ME: Once I start doing that, what will be left of me?
GOD: Only the very best pieces of you.
ME: I'm scared of changing.
GOD: I keep telling you... You are not changing! You are becoming!
ME: Becoming who?
GOD: Who I created you to be! A person of charity, compassion, courage, grace, hope, joy, light, love, and mercy. I made you for more than the shallow pieces you have decided to adorn yourself with that you cling to with such fear and greed. Let those things fall off of you. I love you! Don't change! Become! Become who I made you to be and I'm going to keep telling you this until you remember it.
ME: There goes another piece.
GOD: Yep. Just let it be.
ME: So, I'm not broken?
GOD: No, but you are breaking like the dawn. It's a new day. Are you ready to Become?
ME: Yes, I am.

💗 Bye-Bye Charlie
Our loved ones arrived back in Philly safely today and he was waiting at the door to greet them. He was so glad to see them and they were just as happy to see him. They had a great time in Orlando, but all good things must come to an end and they were ready to come back. You know what they say... there's no place like home.
