In light of everything going on in the country, we got up early to beat the heat and went downtown to take advantage of Free Museum Day at the National Constitution Center, and we're back home now. While we were there, we saw the "Freedom Rising Theater Show," which was excellent. Both of us decided to take one pic near something meaningful before heading home. My hubby is standing near the wall display outside the theater show.
I decided to go around the corner to another building that once represented American garment workers (like my mom) at a time when clothing was made in the USA with great pride. The ILGWU, which existed from 1900-1992, erected this building in Center City in 1980, and it's being used as a Mastery Charter School now. It is located near 4th & Market Streets, directly across from The Bourse Building.
And, speaking of The Bourse... We discovered only two restaurants are operating on borrowed time in the food court and the building will be converted to a hotel in the near future. Have a happy and safe holiday!
