We lost a phenominal black woman today and she was 101 years old. Also known as Katherine Goble, she was an American mathematician (and human computer) whose calculations of orbital mechanics as a NASA employee were critical to the success of the first and subsequent U.S. crewed spaceflights. Taraji P. Henson played the role of Katherine in the movie Hidden Figures.
