First, I want to say thanks to Quincy Jones for featuring James on his album 'The Dude' back in 1981 because I've been a huge fan ever since. I absolutely loved this man's voice and that 'mating call' or whatever it was he did when he sang, can never be duplicated by anyone else. It was his trademark. He was one of my favorite balladeers and he always mastered his part of any duet or collaboration he sang on. He was only 66 years old and I can't believe his voice has been silenced on earth forever. But, I know God has a special place for him in His heavenly choir, along with all the other greats who have gone on before him. He will be missed, but all we need to do is play one of his many beautiful songs, sit back, and let his extraordinary voice soothe our aching hearts. And, to his family, who will miss him the most—May God's peace be with you and please know that James' legion of fans will be lifting all of you up in prayer.
