So, We're Taking God Out of Hotels Now?

It seems like another time-honored tradition is slowly disappearing in the interest of catering to the lifestyle of millennials. Now, don't get me wrong... I have nothing personal against them and they are definitely our future. But, I am getting tired of E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G under the sun being tailored exclusively toward their lifestyle only, as though the rest of us don't exist and have money to invest in the economy too. Hello! We're not dead yet and some of us are no where near it!

When was the last time you stayed overnight at a hotel and didn't find a Bible in the nightstand drawer next to the bed? It was comforting to know it was there if you needed it and something that never hurt a living soul. But, according to this article, they are slowly beginning to disappear from hotel rooms, and it's basically because it doesn't 'fit' the lifestyle of millennials. At the risk of sounding somewhat insensitive, so what and who cares? Excuse me, but they are NOT the only group of people renting hotel rooms. See what I mean?

Well, all I can say is God's Word will always be with me in one way or another as long as I live--in hard copy, electronically, and whatever format they decide to dream up over the next several years. And, of course, it will always be in my mind and heart where it counts the most. Fortunately, I don't have to depend on hotels to provide His word for me and I already know this is a battle that won't be won by previous generations because we are being shown everyday that our opinions about most things don't matter anymore.

If millennials are, indeed, the least religious generation, perhaps we should ask ourselves how that happened and what can be done about it? And, even more importantly, what would Jesus do about millennials and how would He handle the situation? Would He just give into their lack of interest in His Father and His word, or would He do everything within His power to help them make the connection? So, the only thing I can say in response to this article and the irresponsible decision of the hotel industry is... "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do!" #GodHelpUs
