"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder. If they take football away, my endorsements from me, I know that I stood up for what is right." - Colin Kaepernick
The names on his shirt, and countless others, represent Black people who used to be living human beings--but, their lives were cut short by 'trigger-happy' police who like to shoot first and ask questions later. If any one of these names represented a member of your family, you would fully understand his quote and what he did with no apologies. If you have a problem with him kneeling during the national anthem, then all I can say is 'practice what you preach' and get over it. Isn't that what you always tell us to do? Just bear in mind, you're being told to get over someone kneeling during the national anthem; we're being told to get over the unjustified deaths of countless people at the hands of the police.
