If you're like me and sometimes refrain from watching awards shows because they're not inclusive enough, there are too many of them, or just whatever the case maybe, we sometimes miss an important moment in which someone chooses to 'stand up' and say something powerful that needs to be said. Such a moment occurred this evening at the Golden Globe Awards when Meryl Streep accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.
I heard about it on the 11:00pm news, and then searched for her speech on YouTube so I could hear it for myself. Kudos to Meryl for having the courage to 'call out' President-Elect Donald Trump for his 'bully' behavior, speech, etc. I'm sure he will start retaliating with Tweets before the night is over (he needs to grow up), but given the strength of character Meryl has, I'm sure she is sitting back, waiting, and saying, "Bring it on, Donald!" Standing up and applauding! YGG!
