A few states with later poll closings due to time zones are still tabulating ballots but, it is now determined the Dems will control the House. This means Hakim Jeffries will make history as the first African American Speaker of the House. And further, it's also determined the Dems will control the Senate!

✌🏾 Remember to Help Someone Else Vote
After running some errands, me and the hubby went to Acme Market in the Bala Shopping Center this afternoon to get our flu shots before heading home. As we were approaching the intersection of City & Bryn Mawr Avenues, I remembered I needed to make one last stop at CVS. He parked in the lot and decided to wait in the car. I got out the car, said I wouldn't be long, and headed toward the store.
As I passed by a car with a woman sitting inside looking at her phone, she asked me if I knew of any polling places in the area where she could go and vote early via machine. She said she was trying to get the information from Google, but nothing was coming up. Sadly, I explained to her that there is no early voting via machine in the state of Pennsylvania, only by mail-in ballot and the deadline to request a ballot is Tuesday, October 27th. She looked so disappointed and said she didn't want to do it that way. I asked if she lived in the area and was a registered voter? She said yes and I told her she would be able to vote via machine at her usual polling place on Tuesday, November 3rd. Of course, she knew that so she thanked me and I continued on my way to CVS.
This is just one example of everyday questions people may have about the voting process and that's why it's important for each of us to do what we can to make sure E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E knows what they need to do, when they need to do it, and where they need to do it. It's not okay to assume that everyone knows these things because sometimes, they just don't know. And, Pennsylvania... We need to work on bringing early voting via machine to this state as well because, as we have learned the hard way from #47 and his 3-ring circus tent of cronies (calling themselves an administration), it would have been nice if we had that option in place right now.
Just so you know, I didn't take this photo of my encounter with the woman in the CVS parking lot. But, after working on the text for this post, I gave the details to ChatGPT and Gemini along with a request to create a random photo. This time, the photo created by ChatGPT was the winner. So, get those mail-in ballots out the door or go to the polls to vote in-person on election day, and be sure to help someone else do the same.
BTW... Me and the hubby got our COVID shots in September, so we're as ready as we're gonna get for Ol' Man Winter. Hope you did the same and praying for the best! #WinterIsComing
