After the SBC Morning Worship Service, the Black History Ministry hosted their first Juneteenth Jubilee Soul Food Luncheon in the Hope Cafe. The menu was Baked & Fried Chicken; Cabbage, Collard Greens, and String Beans; Black-Eyed Peas & Rice, Macaroni & Cheese, Potato Salad, and Candied Yams; Chocolate, Lemon, Red Velvet, and Sweet Potato Cupcakes; Iced Tea and Lemonade. GOD definitely blessed the hands of everyone who prepared the meal because the food was awesome. And, once again, a special shout out and thank you to the ministry and leader, Bro. Leroy Payton, for hosting another excellent event celebrating Black culture and history!

💲 Team Easy Money vs. Team Monopoly
For those who remember, there were two real estate board games from rival companies back in the day. Milton Bradley gave us Easy Money and Parker Brothers gave us Monopoly. The two games were released as direct competitors in time for the Christmas shopping season in 1935, but Milton Bradley pulled the plug on Easy Money in 1974 after a 39-year run. Of course, Parker Brothers' Monopoly is still with us today--but for the 39 years the two games existed together, which was your favorite?

We decided to travel to AAMP for the Juneteenth festivities via SEPTA. We got off the EL at the 8th Street subway station and walked through what is now called the Lit Brothers Building so we could come up and out on 7th Street to head over to Arch Street. As we were approaching the doors leading out to 7th Street, I looked down and saw this huge door mat on the floor in front of the exit. I know I'm about to tell my age, but that's okay. I don't have a problem admitting that I'm old enough to remember when Lit Brothers was not just a building, but rather a department store. I have many fond memories of being in that store--in particular, as a child at Christmas time while growing up in SW Philly. #IYKYK

💗 Hope Has A New Home
I really enjoyed the Obama Presidential Center Grand Opening and Celebration via livestream, and it's definitely on my bucket list as a place I'd love to visit in the not too distant future. It is my understanding this new portrait of The Obamas was done by a Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based painter named Njideka Akunyili Crosby. It is titled "The Obamas: Springing Forth," and it is the first official dual art portrait of the couple, which is located in the Hope and Change Lobby of the museum. Thank you, Barack and Michelle, for your unwavering sense of determination and inspiration, and the light from both of you that never stops shining bright. #LoveThis
