🕊 R.I.P. Harold George Bellanfanti, Jr.
Activist, Actor & Singer (March 1, 1927 – April 25, 2023)
Thank you for the many memories you left us to cherish in movies and music. We also owe you a debt of gratitude for your never-ending civil rights activism. Yes, you were a class act, but a warrior too. Job well done and you will be greatly missed. Photo: Harry Belafonte & Dorothy Dandridge in the film adaptation of the musical "Carmen Jones" (1954).

📣 Answering The Doorbell 101
Seriously, my doorbell just rang. I'm not making this up. There was a young lady who looked to be in her late teens to early twenties talking on her cell phone when I went to the door. Apparently, she realized on her own she was at the wrong house. She apologized, I said "No problem", she went down the steps, and then proceeded to walk down the street. In turn, I went back to what I was doing in the house before the doorbell rang. Please take note America... No one felt threatened, no one was harmed, and no one was shot! #FYI
🕊 Happy Heavenly Birthday Mom
You would have been 91 years old today. It's not the same down here without your love and presence. The world has always been a cruel place, but it seems even more so now that you're gone. But, you passed on your faith and taught me to trust in GOD so HE could sustain me through these trying times because you knew you wouldn't be here forever. I realize now more than ever, they are the greatest gifts you could have given me. Please know that you are still loved and missed and that will never change, and continue to rest peacefully until we see each other again. Photofunia #Circa1960

A Special Tribute For Autism Moms
When The Good Lord was creating mothers, He was into his sixth day of "overtime" when an angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."
And the Lord said, "Have you read the specs on this order? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have 180 moveable parts – all replaceable, run on black coffee and leftovers, have a lap that disappears when she stands up, a kiss that can cure anything from a broken leg to a disappointed love affair, six pairs of hands, ears that will hear things she doesn't want to hear, a mouth that can gently kiss away scrapes and bruises and yet, tear the hide right off of those who try anything against the best interests of her child."
"Yes, this model will have to be able to sit patiently and listen to outlandish reports about her child without flinching. She will have to hear how hopeless it all is and know that it isn't so. She will have to have those kinds of eyes which don't tear when she hears other mothers talk about how well things are going for their children," said the Lord.
The angel shook its head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands? No way!" "It's not the hands that are causing the problems. It's the three pairs of eyes this mother has to have," said the Lord. "That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.
The Lord nodded and said, "One pair that sees through closed doors when she asks, 'What are you kids doing in there?' when she already knows. Another pair here in the back of her head that sees what she shouldn't but what she has to know and, of course, the ones here in front that can look at a child when he goofs up for the 99th time and say, 'I understand and I love you anyway' without so much as uttering a word."
"Lord," said the angel, touching his sleeve gently, "come to bed. Finish her tomorrow." "I can't," answered the Lord, "I'm very close to creating something so close to myself. Already I have one who heals herself when she is sick, feeds a family of six on one pound of hamburger, and gets her 9 year old to stand under a shower." The angel circled the model of the mother very slowly. "It's too soft," the angel sighed.
"But tough!" said the Lord excitedly. "You cannot imagine what this mother can do or endure." "Can she think?" asked the angel. "Not only can she think," said the Lord, "she can reason and compromise."
Finally, the angel bent over and ran a finger across the cheek of the mother. "There is a leak," the angel pronounced, "I told you that you are trying to put too much into this model." "That's not a leak," said the Lord, "it's a tear." "What's it for?" asked the angel.
"Tears are for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness, and pride… this mother will know a lot about all of that," answered the Lord. "But you know," He continued, "I don't even remember putting that tear there." "By the way," asked the angel, "what will you call this model?" The Lord replied, "I will call this one simply, the mother of an autistic child."

🇺🇸 Shame On You America
I'm sorry. No, I'm not sorry. I'M OUTRAGED.
God willing, I will be celebrating my 65th birthday later this year. Over the course of my life, I cannot tell you how many times I've approached (and once got into) the wrong car or rang the wrong doorbell. I don't drive but many times, my family members or friends have used someone's driveway to make a u-turn when we were lost and trying to get somewhere we've never been before. I took for granted these "things happen" and it was no big deal.
Sadly, it never occurred to me that honest mistakes of that nature could have cost me and my friends or loved ones our lives until now. We've also been on the opposite end of these scenarios and it never crossed our minds to pull out a gun and shoot someone who is in need of directions, help, or a simple answer to a simple question because they are momentarily confused or lost.
What the hell is wrong with people? There are too many guns, too many shootings, and not enough accountability or responsibility. Our government needs to put political differences aside and address gun violence before it's too late and we're totally consumed by it. In the meantime, while we hold our breath waiting for that to happen, God help us!

🕊 Divine Intervention
It's been 3 years and thanks to some help from above, the 2 Peace Lillies are still hanging in there. I guess the warmer spring temps caused 1 of them to bud a month early this year!
