πΆ People Make The World Go Round
Release date November 06, 1971 and lyrically, it's amazing how little the human condition has changed in those 51 years. But, good music is timeless and people still make the world go round.

ππΎ♀️ Racism & Swimming
Did you know 64% of Black children can't swim; 45% of Hispanic children can't swim; 40% of White children can't swim; 10 people a day die from unintentional drowning; and besides birth defects, drowning is the #1 cause of death for children ages 1-4? Once upon a time, everyone did not have equal access to pools around the country. But, water is a natural part of who we all are, it should never be feared, and everyone from the youngest to the oldest should know how to swim. It's a life skill that can save lives!

⏳ #FBF Retro Selfie Photo
This is mom's companion pic to mine from a photo booth @ Atlantic City in 1964. It started raining buckets out of the blue and we were looking for things to do indoors until it stopped. Only people of a certain age will remember it!

π₯° The Philadelphia Zoo
I haven't been here since the grands were little, but I enjoyed this free summer evening community event with the family. The weather was nice and I thought these flamingos were beautiful. My phone app registered 5,942 steps when I got home. My feet and legs got a nice little workout, so I'm sure my body is saying thank you. Stay tuned for more pics in a GIF!

π R.I.P. Lamont Herbert Dozier
(June 16, 1941 – August 8, 2022)
Lamont was best known as one of the legendary Motown songwriting trio Holland, Dozier, Holland. He was 81yo. They wrote many hit songs for other artists, but I always loved this solo effort he released in 1972 when I was 14yo. I bought the 45rpm and played the grooves off of it. I also liked the 1975 cover by Coke Escovedo because it's a beautiful song.
