After 3 days of cool weather and rain, the sun came back out with just the right amount of warmth and not heat. It was a great day to go out, run errands, or whatever. These photos were taken at the Wynnewood Shopping Center. Spring is still on the bloom and summer is getting closer!

Meme of the Day
In a world that makes it more difficult to do these things with each passing day, we must strive to do them anyway for the salvation of our own soul.

Day 983 of My Captivity
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I vomit once again on the carpet. I also decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of; however, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Idiots.
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices today. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies'. I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.
I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around their feet as they were walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observed him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell so he is safe, for now...
⏳ #TBT Retro Selfie Photo
Alright now, don't be shy! Only people of a certain age will remember that THIS is how we took our selfies back in the day and yepper, that's me when I was 5 years old. It was taken in one of these booths at Atlantic City, NJ in the summer of 1964. Can you still remember when AC was family-oriented before the casinos took over?

😋 10-Minute Meal
Me and the hubby could get use to this, especially since the summer heat will be here to stay soon. We are liking these "Dinner in Minutes" bags @ Target, which contain everything you need to whip up a quick meal of 3+ servings. We tried the Rigatoni & Sausage last week and it was good. We're having the BBQ Pork Sliders tonight!

COVID-19: CDC Vaccine Update
They are reviewing several dozen reports that teenagers and young adults may have developed myocarditis after vaccination, officials said. But the agency has not determined whether the vaccine caused the condition. Click on the image or text link underneath to read the full NY Times article.

Girls Day Out
Me and my daughter started with lunch at Chickie's & Pete's in Drexel Hill. After that, we did some seasonal shopping for the summer along Route 1 at Dollar Tree, K&G, Old Navy, Ross, Tuesday Morning, and Wal-Mart. I hope the 90+ temperatures aren't here to stay yet, but it was a beautiful day just the same!

⏳ #FBF Memories & Souvenirs
Walt Disney World opened on October 1, 1971. While I was visiting with family in Georgia during the summer of 1972, two aunts and an uncle took me and a few cousins to this magical place. The park itself was still relatively new, I was 13 years old, and this is the postcard I mailed to mom while I was there. Check out the stamp, it only cost me 8¢ to send it and President Eisenhower is on it. All moms have a way of saving things we have long forgotten, and I was surprised when I found this in one of her dresser drawers after she passed away. I had no idea she kept it all those years, but I'm glad she did...

Grandma's Hands
I will always remember shelling peas, shuking corn, and snapping green beans growing up, sitting on the front porch at my grandmother's house during summer visits in Bainbridge, GA. She also grew all of the things that we shelled, shuked, and snapped back then!
PA Primary Day
Sent in my mail ballot last week and got an email confirmation it was received. If you didn't vote in the PA election, it's not too late. The polls will be open until 8:00pm today. Every election matters and every vote counts. Just do it!

COVID-19: Don't Be A Maskhole!
If you see people masked after the CDC removed masking requirements, please remember...
-People may have cancer
-People may have autoimmune diseases
-People may have unvaccinated children at home
-People may have high-risk loved ones they are protecting
-People may have asthma and realized over the last year that their symptoms are alleviated by wearing a mask outdoors
-People may have symptoms but are unable to stay home; they could be protecting you from the flu or a cold
That woman wearing a mask who is alone in her car? She may be on her way to pick-up a cancer patient, a newborn, or an unvaccinated family member and not want any chance of her breathing in the vehicle making her passenger sick.
That guy who appears to be healthy to you, masking in a store that doesn't require it? He could be at high risk, unvaccinated, or protecting a loved one at home from exposure.
Don't be a "maskhole" and keep your humor to yourself. People wearing masks have their reasons or it could be their personal choice. Give them space, treat them like human beings, and respect that it is their choice.
It costs nothing to mind your own business.

"Just Chilling!"
"Wait, I'm not ready yet!"
"Okay, I'm ready now!"
After reading a note posted on the locked door @ MickeyD's about a "surge" in you know what, we decided to cancel breakfast until after karate class and headed for you know where. It's a good thing we still had our masks at the ready. It ain't gone yet, y'all. Be safe out there!

We Can Do It!
Me and the hubby finally got a chance to dine-in @ DJ Kitchen on City Avenue since the start of COVID-19 in March of last year. It was relatively new to the area and we only ate there two times before the pandemic hit. After losing California Pizza Kitchen, Jimmy John's, and Naf Naf Grill during the shutdowns, it was nice to know that they survived!
⏳ #TBT Classic Music Memories
During my elementary school years, Motown music was still dominant on the radio and whenever I hear these 2 songs in particular, they take me back to happier times when both of my parents were healthy, vibrant, and young. Music was always playing in the background of my life and to this day, that's why I love it so much!

🕊 Divine Intervention
The plants I have from mom's passing are still alive and thriving. I lost one of them last year, but that's pretty good for me because I haven't taken care of pets or plants on a daily basis for several years.
But, I just discovered that my first Peace Lily "bud" of the season is coming through. Either my thumb is trying to turn green again or maybe I'm getting some help from heaven!
This is a May 19th update and the bud is officially my first Peace Lily "bloom" of the season now. I know for sure that it must be divine intervention!
Watched the CNN Special that aired Sunday evening @ 8:00pm. My favorite part... When Don Lemon was talking to Stevie Wonder, who straight-up said "Shit is still going on, if I can suspend being Stevie for a minute and speak plainly." Yes it is and the struggle continues. This album was released on May 21, 1971 and it is definitely Marvin's masterpiece!

🕊 Mom Quotes
"Mothers always believe in us more than we believe in ourselves, do more for us than they do for themselves, worry about us more than we realize, pray for us more than we'll ever know, value us more than anything else in the world, give us more than they can afford, and love us more than anyone else can. They can take the place of all others, but no one can ever take their place."

💗 Mom Challenge
* I’m still your mom... When you no longer listen to me or care what I say.
* I’m still your mom... When you decide I’m old fashioned and want to go your own way.
* I’m still your mom... When you complain, talk back, and we argue.
* I’m still your mom... When you figure you know more than I do.
* I’m still your mom... When you move away and take a piece of my heart with you.
* I’m still your mom... And, I'll always love you as much as the first day I held you in my arms.
* I’m still your mom... And, I'll always pray for you and make sure your wings are strong enough to fly.
* I’m still your mom... And, I'll always want what’s best for you and will sacrifice my plans for yours.
* I’m still your mom... And, I’ll always have room for you and a hug to welcome you.
* I’m still your mom... And, I’ll always carry your love with me until my very last breath.
* I'm still your mom... And, I thank GOD every day for the joy and privilege it’s been to be called your mom.
Now, I challenge every mom to post the text with a picture of your child(ren). The photo in this post is me and my daughter in 1981!

National Nurses Day
Mother's Day is coming and I want to extend a special shout out to the nursing staff at Main Line Health for everything they did to care for mom during the last several months of her life. I am so grateful.
