October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. It is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and the second leading cause of cancer death among women. Each year it is estimated that over 246,660 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die. Although breast cancer in men is rare, an estimated 2,600 men will be diagnosed with it and approximately 440 will die each year. On average, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 2 minutes and 1 woman will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes. Over 2.8 million breast cancer survivors are alive in the United States today. Click on the image or text link underneath for more information.

SGK is celebrating those who are #MoreThanPink, the heroes in our communities and in our lives that have supported us, loved us, fundraised or done something above and beyond to help end breast cancer. Maybe your hero is the man or woman in your life who has or is currently fighting breast cancer. SGK wants you to honor the #MoreThanPink hero or heroes in your life by customizing your Facebook profile picture with this frame. Click on the image or text link underneath to generate yours so you can use it during the month of October. If you're interested in participating in a SGK Race For The Cure event near you, use this link to visit the website for more information and registration.
